Leading procurement functions across multiple Business Units, as a Director of Procurement and Supply Chain, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the business goals and objectives. Your role involves driving continuous improvement in procurement processes, fostering supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and materials to meet the organization's operational needs.
More about your responsibilities: 
  • Accountable for maintaining a forward-looking strategy for the sourcing and procurement function and driving process transformations that resonate with our Corporate and Business Unit goals and objectives.
  • Provide insight on strategic sourcing and negotiation tactics based on market awareness and trends.
  • Manage the sourcing and negotiation for particularly high-value materials and finished products, in order to secure optimal pricing, superior quality, and competitive lead times, while driving cost savings and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Create and sustain competitive advantage by maintaining a strategic vendor base, leveraging technology and global market exploitation.
  • Ensure cost competitiveness and consistent supply availability by conducting RFPs for goods and materials.
  • Design, implement and maintain Service Level Agreements with key suppliers.
  • Coach and mentor team members across multiple Jones locations to support ongoing talent development.
  • Proactively identify and implement annual goals and KPIs for the procurement function.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and efficiency in procurement practices.
  • Ensure that all requirements of the Quality and Health & Safety Management System are followed.
What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, and Strategic Sourcing.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior Leadership position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience and passion in:
    • Mentoring and coaching high performing teams developing best practices.
    • Developing and implementing strategic procurement initiatives that have resulted in significant cost savings, process improvements, and enhanced supplier relationships.
    • Experience establishing and maintaining effective business partnerships with internal partners to drive collaboration and efficiencies, including warehousing and operations teams.
    • Strong negotiation skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with various audiences.
    • A proactive approach to risk management.
  • Consider a strong asset:
    • CSCP certification, PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada), or other industry-leading designation.
