Position Summary

As an Inbound Logistics Coordinator, you will lead the movement of goods from all Global Suppliers to Trojan’s facilities in North America and assure their on time delivery. This position requires a person with good organizational, time management, communication skills, understanding of all transportation modes, customs requirements for goods entering Canada. A successful candidate will be able to adapt to proactively identify and recommend strategies to optimize or improve performance at every touch point and demonstrate the ability to act urgently to sudden changing requirements.

 

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate pickup of shipments from third party locations globally using all modes of transportation for delivery to Trojan’s Canadian locations.

  • Track shipment progress and assure shipments are picked up and delivered on time.

  • Support trade compliance and broker activity.

  • Problem solve shipments and activities stuck in transit.

  • File claims and keep track of claims with carriers for damaged/ lost shipments.

  • Obtain freight quotes and delivery timelines for ocean and air shipments.

  • Track shipments and provide status updates to Purchasing and Production teams

  • Execute freight payment.

 

Measures of Performance

  • Support on-time delivery goal of 95%.

  • Reduce the volume of Inbound Logistics related shortages by 20%.

  • Reduce costs by 10%

  • Develop standard and maintain work instructions.

 

Critical Competencies / Leadership Anchors:

  • Knowledge of Global Logistics and Trace Compliance

  • Capacity to plan and organize shipments quickly while creating accurate documentation

  • Self-managed individual who is proactive in identifying Logistical needs when responding to requests.

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years relevant logistics and customs experience

  • Experienced in coordinating all modes of transportation.

  • Ability to demonstrate change management skills/experience.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Business orientation and acumen, fast and assertive decision-making based on analytical thinking. High accuracy and attention to detail are essential requirements for this position

  • Flexibility and agility to respond quickly and effectively in a highly dynamic, changing environment.

  • Capability to establish good relationships with others who have different values, cultural styles and perspectives. Setting high and ambitious goals and standards for oneself and others, continuously raising the bar.
