Product Manager

As a Product Manager, this position includes evaluating the current market and leverage context from the industry, our existing customers, stakeholders and market data. You will assist the product road map and turn abstract ideas into user friendly features. The Product Manager responsibilities will be focused on delivery as well as continuous improvement of our processes, works very closely with our management team on various product initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and implementation of the product marketing strategy for the complete product lifecycle. This includes product conception, product positioning, product pricing and SKU management.
  • Responsible to initiate and lead activities involved in identifying market opportunities, identifying unmet consumer needs, developing product line strategies, developing new products, enhancements of redesigns.
  • Partner with Marketing to deploy compelling and creative product stories with a focus toward continuously building and growing the equity of the brands and extending market-leading position.
  • Internal champion of new products and driving the most relevant product solutions with the most relevant product stories.
  • Work with management team to design and manage the product road map and strategy, balancing both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Gain understanding of customer experience to help identify and fill product gaps and develop and/or update products that improve customer experience to drive growth of the company’s market share.
  • Help define the nature and scope of product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
  • Responsible for developing product pricing strategy.
  • Help assess market competition by comparing the company’s products to competitors’ products.
  • Use market feedback from sales and field service teams to identify valuable product updates.
  • Delivery on the Product Lifecycle Management process – User Stories & detailed Specifications, UI/UX, Sprint reviews with R&D, support QA processes, release management and documentation & training.
  • Responsible for SKU profitability analysis, suggesting improvements (through channel mix and/or engineering improvements) or phase outs.
  • Turn abstract ideas into user-friendly product features, focusing on delivering and accountability to smart manufacturing.
  • Identify and analyze indicators that determine how well a product and/or feature is performing in the market.
  • Accurately communicate highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Research industry trends in Indoor Air Quality and Manufacturing to ensure Airia remains innovative and industry leading.
  • Assists Sales and Marketing with the creation of relevant product literature, technical presentations and promotional materials.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management capacity with a manufacturing company.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering an asset.
  • HVAC experience highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of commercializing new products.
  • Ability to balance numerous competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and excellence at on-time-delivery of goals.
  • Familiarity with analytic tools, testing platforms and tracking tools.
  • Professional and clear communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Able to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to readily learn and adapt to computer systems / applications.
  • Ability to grow with the company and take on more responsibilities over time.
  • Tremendous drive and always looking for better ways of doing things.
  • A “Can-do” attitude and willing to jump in where needed.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including frequent travel across North America to stay connected to the market and sales team.
