About the job

As a member of our Finance team, you will ensure develop and deliver manufacturing financial reporting, providing analysis that supports Operations decision making. Lead key finance projects that bring meaning and clarity to Costing, Capital Investments and overall operating related spend .

Responsibilities Include

Manufacturing Operations Support, Analysis and Planning

 
  • Partner with Manufacturing Operations Management to best utilize TMI’s resources
  • Become the expert in Cost of Sales supporting all departments (Operations, Procurement, New Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Innovation)
  • Analyze weekly manufacturing results and variances to ensure accuracy, make recommendations, and highlight trends
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset sub-ledger and tooling schedules to capture new purchases and disposals and to calculate monthly amortization journal entries
  • Ensure that schedules and established time standards for production are met or adjusted as needed
     
Financial Reporting, Analysis and Management
 
  • Lead TMI Group’s budgeting and forecasting processes for COS, including the development of input templates, reports, and supporting analytical schedules
  • Provide sound analytical insights to support and inform Manufacturing financial decision making across the business
  • Lead and oversee projects and process improvement initiatives within the Finance department, working closely with the team to ensure appropriate roll-out and communication across the business.
     
Quality and Compliance
 
  • Develop and manage the updating of IT systems for the effective capture and reporting of TMI’s financial data .

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.
     
Qualifications
 
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to impact and influence people outside of direct reporting structure
  • Ability to work independently at times
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of an organization
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with:
  • Advanced experience in MS Excel
  • Advanced experience in ERP business software
  • Basic to intermediate experience in MS Dynamics Great Plains is an asset
  • Ability to train and motivate staff members
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
