Trudell Medical Limited is the Corporate entity within the Trudell Medical Group of Companies and operates out of our offices in London, Ontario Canada.

Corporate Accountant is a role in our Corporate Finance team.

This is an office-based role with the option of a hybrid work arrangement.

Must be available to come into the London, Ontario office 3 days per week.

You have a graduated from a 3 year college program (Advanced Diploma or Graduate Certificate) in accounting and have 4 years of experience in general accounting or finance function. You have advanced experience in MS Excel (spreadsheets) and experience in MS Dynamics Great Plains or D365 (ERP) is an asset. You have excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and follow up. You have the ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet deadlines and can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, you will ensure completion of the monthly accounting cycle processes including booking necessary journal entries, preparing financial statements, project accounting and recording payment of expenses in an accurate and timely manner for Trudell Medical Limited.

Specifically, you will focus on:

General Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Ensure accurate monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flow) are completed in accordance with accounting guidelines
  • Prepare and record journal entries, and ensure completion of monthly reconciliation of all balance sheets, and expense accounts
  • Maintain bank reconciliations and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare accurate and complete year-end working papers and year-end financial statement closing process

Accounts Payable

  • Accurately record accounts payable ensuring all supporting documentation obtained, code and enter invoices into the accounting system, and ensure suppliers are paid in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure expense reports are complete, accurate, and appropriately approved and provide Concur platform user administration support
  • Generate payments in a timely manner ensuring cash flow is maintained
  • Communicate and provide correspondence to vendors
  • Reconcile the Accounts Payable sub-ledger to the General Ledger, and supplier statements to the Accounts Payable sub-ledger
  • Complete timely filings and remittances for corporate tax instalments, sales tax, and payroll deductions

Reconciliation, Analysis and Planning

  • Review detailed sub-ledger and analyze variances to budget and previous year monthly and provide departmental expense summaries
  • Assist with monthly project reporting of IT and ERP project expenditures and provide reporting against budget
  • Track inter-company chargebacks and reconcile intercompany accounts monthly with operating companies
  • Assist with the preparation of annual TML budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Digital Transformation and Systems

  • Assist with financial digital transformation projects, including contributing to design, implementation, data validation, process review, and user acceptance testing
  • Provide support to operating companies as a technical resource of new systems
