About Us: Stein Industries is a leading player in the electrical apparatus industry, specializing in power transformers. We pride ourselves on innovation, quality, and sustainability. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our procurement team.
Position Overview: As a Junior Buyer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and supplies needed to support production. You’ll collaborate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain inventory levels. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supply chain management and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic organization.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
- Procurement:
- Source materials, components, and equipment required for production.
- Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing and terms.
- Place purchase orders and track deliveries.
- Construct purchase orders from material take-off’s/blueprints.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to prevent shortages.
- Cost Analysis:
- Analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in manufacturing (large steel welded components or electrical)
Candidate must have:
- Valid Canadian drivers license (G2).
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
