Production Associate
Nothers The Award Store, located in London, Ontario, is looking for a Production Associate with experience in a manufacturing environment specifically using laser engravers.
General responsibilities:
The Production Associate is responsible for assembly of products using bolts, screws, clips, soldering tools, and assorted fasteners and operating variety of hand tools and equipment to produce custom products and/or decorate them according to the artwork specifications. He/she is responsible for checking products for quality and correct specifications, meeting daily production quotas, documenting production records, and following all safety protocols and workplace policies.
The Production Associate is responsible for maintaining safe and clean workstation and complying with all company policies and procedures.
Core responsibilities include:
* Work in production according to established procedures
* Operate the process equipment when it is required.
* Follow the artwork instructions to complete the orders
* Pack the orders according to the customer’s specifications.
* Follow high quality standards for the final products
* Meet daily production quotas
* Assist Operations Manager with other production areas (shipping, inventory)
* Follow all safety protocols and workplace policies
* Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating tools into processes
* Assist in training new team members in problem-solving techniques and on-the-spot production troubleshooting
* Identify areas for waste reduction
* Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
* Ability to follow the entire order production process.
* Analytical problem solver with ability to apply common sense and make sound process recommendations
* Effective verbal and listening communications skills
* Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes
* Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
* Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
* Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor
* Attention to detail is critical
* Quick learner with ability to learn and use company’s database program
* Knowledge of First Aid and CPR an asset

Working Conditions:
* Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30om with opportunity for occasional overtime
* Fast paced work environment with plenty of interruptions
* Performing physical labour and repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods of time
* Occasional work with a variety of hand and power tools
* No open-toe shoes on the production floor
