This is a 12- month contract role, in-person at our St.Thomas location.
As part of the ramp-up team of our new Canadian location, you will report to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO). You will support the CPO and the Canadian Procurement team in daily business operations, serving as the?key link on the procurement Team for general ramp-up projects and being involved in a variety of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and coordinates key internal and external meetings on behalf of the CPO, manages schedules, agenda topics, communication and action plans follow up as required.
- Effectively manages on a timely basis: expenses, calendar & travel management, correspondence, company car / IT concerns, teleconference set-up, appointment booking, translation ad hoc requests, onboarding new direct reports, etc.
- Serves as the point of contact for the CPO in their absence.
- Develops and tracks deliverables of projects, providing progress reports, and proactive management responses; maintains scorecard and presents information regularly.
- Regular monitoring, recording, reporting and communication of project deliverables.
- Key participant in a variety of Procurement projects.
- Supports the tracking of departmental budget and expenses.
- Maintenance and publishing on SharePoint & VGCA Intranet of procurement documents/programs.
- Interfaces with all levels of the organization within Canada as well as with HQ in Germany
- Performs other general administrative tasks for the procurement department as a whole
- Performs other duties as assigned or as they might pertain to the position
What you bring to the Team
- Bachelors degree in Business, Administration, Human Resources or a related field, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5+ years related work experience
- Experience in a busy corporate and/or ramp-up setting preferred
- Ability to adapt to and maintain flexibility with the juggling of multiple projects
- High degree of discretion and confidentiality required
- Significant experience with multi-tasking, attention to detail, and ability to deal with ambiguity
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience with OneDrive, SharePoint, MS Teams, Concur and SAP strongly desired
- Demonstrates success in developing strong working relationships across many layers of an organization and across cultural boundaries.
- Proven ability to prioritize, stay organized and maintain professional composure at all times.
- Takes initiative, is self-reliant and can work well under minimum supervision.
- Ability to travel within Ontario (up to ~10%)
- Ability to maintain flexible work hours to account for time zone differences with Europe, when necessary
- Overtime may be required to meet ramp-up deadlines
