Facility and Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, the Facility & Maintenance Supervisor has the responsibility of supervising, planning and implementing all maintenance and facility activities for the site. The Facility and Maintenance Supervisor reviews and ensures compliance with regulatory codes while maintaining a safe workplace environment.
Regular working hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

The Role

Coordinate outside contractors and maintenance resources

Responsible for the maintenance of the facility, HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, compressed air, potable water systems, purified water, and all other system associated with the facility

Lead the technical team assigned with facility work orders to ensure schedule adherence

Supervision, planning and implementation of all maintenance activity in order to optimize production within safety, legislative, environmental and company requirements.

Manage, arrange for and direct building and equipment maintenance/repair, including parts and services purchased.

Develop and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and repair activities.

Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate
-
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or related field required.

Knowledge of GMP principles and/or HACCP an asset.

5 years of leadership/supervisory experience in maintenance/facilities management preferred.

Experience in a pharmaceutical or food facility an asset.

Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate, plan, organize and supervise repairs to maintenance related work and modifications.

Knowledge and experience in maintenance and repair or related equivalent.

Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical drawings and specification documents. Ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals and to identify and resolve problems.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.

The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. Use of manual dexterity is required.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
