CNC Machinist

Premier Machining, a significant player in the defense survivability market, is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join the team in our location in Dorchester, Ontario!
General description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce prototypes, precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, quality control measures, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The CNC Machinist will play a crucial role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Licensed Machinist is an asset
· 5 years direct experience as a Machinist
· CNC Lathe operating experience required, 5 axis with live tooling experience an asset
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Operate, setup and program editing CNC machining centers at an advanced level using Mastercam
· Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards
· Accurate and highly analytical, good problem-solving skills
· Understanding of fundamental cutting tool selection
· Proficient in blue print reading (geometric tolerances)
· Knowledge of required measuring instruments and gauges
· Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as required
Essential Duties:
The duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to:
· Have a good knowledge of all Standard Operational Procedures in work areas and be able to ensure that all standards of quality are controlled and carried out
· CNC set-up & operating Mill & Lathe Centers for proto-type and production
· Running manual Milling, Lathe, drilling and saw cutting equipment
· Communicate and/or assist QA Technicians with the process and final inspections.
· Comply with and demonstrate the company Health & Safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Act. Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed in all areas covered by this designation
· Read and understand computer aided design (Solidworks), and edit programs as needed (Mastercam)
· Prepare production and other reports as required
· Assist with training of new employees
· Complete verification documents as required
· Maintains cleanliness of machine/work area
· Other duties as required
