Salary Range: $61.90 - $72.82 /hour

 

This position is vital to carry out the management and strategic directions in the physical operations and maintenance of facilities on behalf of St. Joseph's Health Care London. It is critical to the successful management and implementation of maintenance activities and projects.

The position is responsible and accountable for space management and assessment throughout St. Joseph's Health Care London and related community-based programs.

Key requirements include: directing and managing others assisting and mentoring unionized skilled trades staff; strategic application of project management techniques; management of planned and on demand maintenance requests; excellent communications skills; effective and efficient allocation of resources; achievement of key timelines and budgets; and the fulfillment of internal and external users' needs and expectations. The Manager will be responsible for all of the physical facilities of the Hospital with joint and common responsibilities for overall management and coordination, including on-call responsibility.


Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Architectural Science, or a related discipline is required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a facilities leadership role
  • Advanced knowledge in one or more of: facilities management, building science, engineering, architecture, building systems, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, assessment and evaluation, project management and continuous quality improvement.
  • Detailed construction/property/technical knowledge
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, budget creation and tracking, asset management and tracking, lifecycle replacement planning.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Experience in project management for large complex multi-disciplined institutional construction projects
  • Strong staff management skills and good knowledge of human resources practices and processes in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Excellent leadership, motivational, and decision-making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgments and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations in the workplace
  • Demonstrated shared leadership, team development and collaboration, and facilitation skills coupled with superior interpersonal, relationship and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and demonstrates composure under pressure/stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in program development and evaluation, project management and LEAN training skills usually acquired and enhanced through related relevant experience and additional educational training. In addition, the successful candidate will possess strong Leadership capabilities including: Lead Self; Engage Others; Achieve Results; Develop Coalition; System Transformation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Designation in a related field from an accredited or recognized professional or recognized organization
  • Good understanding of clinical & research environment, functions and needs
  • Related experience in health care setting
  • Experience with construction drawings, building systems design, root cause analysis, and data collection
  • Participation in industry related organizations (PEO,ASHRAE, etc.)
Teaching and Research
  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your operational duties
Immunization Requirements
  • Provide documentation you have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
