Night Shift - Coating

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up machines to start production cycles, including labelers, printers, robotic fillers, and pumps.
  • Operate and monitor machines, adjusting settings such as speed as needed to maintain efficient production.
  • Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated machines.
  • Inspect parts and products with precision using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform in-process checks to ensure product integrity is maintained throughout the packaging process.
  • Periodically test machine operations to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
  • Check output regularly to identify machine-related mistakes or product flaws.
  • Ensure documentation complies with Good Production Procedures (GPP).
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and fix issues that occur during the shift to minimize downtime.
  • Perform full changeovers and clean-in-place (CIP) processes as required.
  • Communicate machine issues to the appropriate individuals, detailing what has been attempted and the results.
  • Keep accurate records of approved and defective units or final products.
  • Maintain detailed activity logs, including completion of electronic batch records (EBRs) and work orders (WOs).
  • Accurately track data in approved locations and update inventory consumables check sheets as needed.
  • Navigate D365 to retrieve correct production journals and ensure accurate consumption of materials.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues with D365 as necessary.
  • Achieve line rates based on machine runs and performance goals.
  • Complete changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime between production runs.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machine operation, maintenance, and safety.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by supervisors to support overall production goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven experience as a machine operator or in a similar production role.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to navigate a computer and use Microsoft office.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with GPP and quality control procedures is an asset.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks and handling moderate physical labour.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience navigating ERP systems such as D365 is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to report and document machine issues effectively.
  • Dexterity and coordination to handle small machine parts, tool and precision tools.
