Production Lead Hand

Job Description:

lead a team of production staff in the daily processes of mix production, packaging, freezing, and cleaning. This position will include the following duties:

Establish methods to coordinate scheduling activities of the team of production staff.
Be responsible for the set-up procedures and perform set up;
Handling of ingredients;
Managing supplies, including requisition supplies;
Perform specific tasks as part of the cleaning and sanitation of the work area for the next day of production;
Help implement SQF (Safe Quality Food) policy;
Prepare production reports and track quality paper work;

Required Qualifications:

College Diploma or Degree an asset;
Minimum (1-5) years of work experience in food production preferred;
Strong leadership;
High proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
HACCP/BRC/SQF certification/experience an asset;
Leadership experience;
Good communication skills;
Ability to work in a high paced team environment;
Must be physically capable of lifting and manually moving products weighing up to 50lbs. in freezer and dry areas;
Independently motivated;
Attention to detail;
This position requires willingness and commitment to the irregular work schedule:

8-12-hour shifts (as needed)
Day shift
Evening shift
Monday to Friday
Overtime and weekend availability.

Permanent, Full time (40 hrs./wk.)
