Your Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Marwood drivers are able to understand and demonstrate all job competencies as indicated in the employee job description.
- Assist all Marwood Teams when deciding on transportation needs related to equipment and parts shipping into and out of Marwood.
- Assist in development of interplant route schedules, and maintain on a daily basis in order to move Marwood freight in the most cost effective method.
- Assist Marwood Divisional Shipping & Receiving Supervisors to monitor Marwood Ship Notice Program to schedule Marwood drivers and establish internal/external logistics routes or spot buy runs on a case by case basis.
- Assign internal driver resources for regular hours and gain approval from Logistics Manager for overtime to meet shipping needs to meet Marwood delivery requirements.
- Discuss and inform driver performance issues to Logistics Manager.
- Correspondence with outside companies Re: expedited freight, return of goods etc.
- Approve shipments and consolidate when necessary.
- Customs broker inquiries, back up to Logistics Manager- verify documents and data to ensure product is cleared without delays.
- Utilize internal system to check shipment status (RM, WIP, FG, Pkg), interplant and external sources.
- Cost and time comparisons between shipping methods.
- Schedule Fleet Maintenance, Inspection, repairs, etc
- Monitor data on GeoTab ELD website and app.
- Back up on customs/supplier transportation portals.
- All other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Three (3) years plus Logistics experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain & Logistics preferred
- Excellent communication skills for development of employees and interaction with internal and external customers, suppliers and carriers
- Domestic, International and Over-seas shipment handling experience in all modes of transportation
- Valid G License
- Forklift License, or willing to obtain
