Job Description
This is an exciting role that will contribute to your professional development by providing you a breadth of experience which will expand your ability to think critically, handle difficult situations, and further develop your interpersonal skills. This role can put you on a path to leadership roles at Hardie if that is something that you aspire to. An Electrical Foreperson will provide leadership and training to Electricians and Apprentices, as well as, ensuring timely completion of projects, and liaising with customers. Along with providing strong leadership to Electricians and Apprentices, you will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with them while maintaining your Foreperson status.
More specifically, the Electrical Foreperson will be responsible for:
- Providing direction and support to electricians and apprentices, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner,
- Working with customers to develop an understanding of their expectations in terms of level of service and to review completed tasks to ensure customer satisfaction,
- Resolving issues (material requirements on job site),
- Reviewing completed work to ensure it is to code and company standards and development plans of action to address any issues,
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, including ensuring staff are following proper PPE procedures and company and customer health and safety policies and safe work practices.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Post-secondary education in electrical techniques or a related field is considered an asset,
- You must possess a valid 309A Electrical License and be an active member with Skilled Trades Ontario,
- Previous experience in a Foreperson role is considered an asset, previous experience in leadership roles is considered essential,
- Have experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical equipment with experience conducting basic preventive maintenance,
- Be a strong leader, good communicator and independent worker,
- Must possess a valid class G2 Driver’s License, or better, with a clean driving record and access to a reliable means of transportation,
- Be willing to work weekends and participate in the on-call schedule, as required.
