ABOUT THE ROLE

Amsted Automotive Group (Means Transform Products), London, ON, is seeking an experienced Program Manager. 

This position leads the APQP process and becomes the program subject matter expert.   Technical knowledge required in both Product and Process planning and organization.  Represents the company with customers and internal departments. Problem solving leader through the life of the program.

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

  • Lead APQP Process for allocated programs
  • Quoting cost and timing for product, tooling, machinery and process planning.
  • Prepare product business feasibility for program success.
  • Tooling and equipment selection, build, runoff and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Team member for Supplier and Vendor assessment and approval.
  • Serves in the capacity as Customer Representative
  • Process Engineering to assist manufacturing and quality initiatives to improve process, part quality.
  • Coordinate and track engineering changes and prototype parts.
  • Assist in the launch of tooling and machinery.
  • Review and direct CAD/blueprint proposal drawings and changes
  • Attend department and or customer meeting as required
  • Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principals
  • Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
  • Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED    

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum 5 years work experience in tooling, manufacturing and engineering
  • AIAG Core Tools experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and scanners
  • Understanding of stamping and related manufacturing processes and systems
  • Understand and be able to read CAD and blueprint drawings
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 140001 and Q1 Compliance criteria
  • GD & T knowledge
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision: self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, suppliers, and customers
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Organized and efficient, with extensive multi-tasking and project management abilities

WHAT ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW

  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks
  • Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Flex shift hours may be required to support role responsibilities over 3 shift operation
  • Office and manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise
  • Wear personal protective equipment as prescribed
