Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and testing, with a keen interest in the
medical device industry. You’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop, refine, and
manufacture prosthetic solutions that change lives.
Key Responsibilities:
? Product Development and Testing:
o Conceptualize, design, and optimize mechanical components and systems for prosthetic
devices.
o Use CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360) to create and refine designs.
o Develop prototypes using additive manufacturing, machining, or other methods.
o Conduct and document functional, durability, and fatigue testing.
o Ensure compliance with relevant medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO
13485, FDA).
? Manufacturing & Assembly:
o Collaborate with manufacturing partners on design-for-manufacture and assembly
processes.
o Create engineering drawings, bill of materials, and detailed documentation.
o Oversee prototype and production runs to ensure quality and reliability.
? Collaboration & Innovation:
o Work closely with clinical advisors, users, and other stakeholders to iterate and improve
product designs.
o Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them into product
development.
o Collaborate with in-house and contracted team members on both iterative and new
product development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
? Education & Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
o 2+ years of experience in product development (medical devices, prosthetics or related
field preferred).
? Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).
o Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing mechanical systems.
o Familiarity with materials commonly used in prosthetics (e.g., metals, polymers,
composites).
o Hands-on experience with traditional subtractive and/or additive manufacturing.
o Experience with common cyclic loading fatigue tests and quality assurance practices.
