Food Service (Line Cook)

New Leaf is seeking a friendly and charismatic Line Cook to join our food truck team. In this role, you will prepare, assemble, and serve a variety of plant-based comfort food at community events throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Working in the Food Truck scene is a fun, fast-paced environment where we prepare, assemble and serve our customers a variety of plant-based comfort food, made from scratch.

We attend fun community events throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall, and share our love of nutritious and delicious food with others. This is a customer-focused position with lots of opportunities to meet new people, share your passion for food, celebrate environmental sustainability, and be out in the community.

About You:

• You are friendly and charismatic when interacting with large crowds.

• You have experience in the food industry

• You have experience working in a fast-paced environment.

• You look ahead and take initiative to prepare.

• You work well as part of a small team and are comfortable working fast in a smaller kitchen space

• You are excited about sharing your knowledge of plant-based food with others.

• You are eager to understand environmentally sustainable operations and learn more alongside us.

• Available to work a variety of shifts including lunch hours from 11:00-2:00 and dinner services from 4:00-8:00 pm.

• You have your own reliable transportation.

Responsibilities of This Role:

• Greet and engage with customers at the food truck.

• Take customer orders and answer customer questions.

• Prepare the food truck for busy lunch and dinner services by prepping, arranging, and restocking ingredients.

• Assemble and serve a variety of plant-based sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and bowls.

• Be the face of New Leaf at festivals, special events, and community gatherings.

Position Requirements:

Availability to work 20-30 hours per week, including lunch shifts, evenings, and weekends.

Reliable transportation (events may be outside the city or public transportation routes).

Safe Food Handler Certification is a must.

Previous restaurant, food service, or related experience is an asset.
