Who We Are 

A world-class defense company located in London, Ontario is looking for an engineering student to join our team. NOTE: This position requires the successful candidate to be available for a minimum of 8 months, up to 16 months.  

 

Key Job Elements: 

The maintenance engineering student position under the guidance of a Team Leader involves researching, analyzing and creating removal, installation and repair procedures for Technical Manuals (TM) based on CAD models and engineering drawings for the Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV). Day-to-day activities include: 

  • Gather information from Design and Reliability Engineering teams to understand vehicle systems and their maintenance requirements.
  • Write maintenance procedures in XML format compliant with military standards.
  • Collaborate with technical illustrators to generate graphics to support technical procedures.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks and proofreading of documents to eliminate errors and ensure consistency with style guidance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineers and vehicle technicians, to ensure accuracy of technical content.

The successful candidate will be provided one-on-one training. This training includes, but is not limited to, overview of the LAV system and operation, authoring software (XML), content management system, style/language-specific guidance, and ongoing mentorship by lead maintenance expert. The successful candidate will gain a detailed understanding of LAV systems through experience in this role.

  • Ability to travel (5% Canada or 5% US & Int’l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
