We are looking for passionate individuals to help us deliver innovative, unique solutions to our Customers.About the OpportunityOur company is seeking a Senior Specialist in Cybersecurity to be a technical leader within the Software and Cybersecurity department. We are looking for an individual who thrives in a team environment, has the ability to multi-task, while maintaining complex schedules. This role will drive cybersecurity strategy and innovation on GDLS products. The ideal candidate for this job has excellent customer facing skills, is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. Assuring a steady completion of workload in a timely manner is key to success in this position.  Your duties may include:
  • Execute full life-cycle design activity on advanced systems, taking responsibility to independently help department overcome design challenges.  Be accountable for critical team design decisions, ensuring upfront architectural decisions provide a robust path to compliance.
  • Oversee and develop cybersecurity requirements for automotive applications
  • Develop project plans and schedules, and track and status projects to completion
  • Act as Control Account Manager on select tasks.  Independently complete project status and take action to address growing issues and risks. Support team as required.
  • Act as a department technical mentor in your area of expertise.  Based on IRAD developments and general industry trends, identify and propose solutions to address significant technical competency gaps within the team and department. 
  • Lead the strategy for secure vehicle architectures, departmental processes & procedures, cybersecurity best practices into existing business applications.
  • Guide the development of technical solutions such as: cryptography, intrusion detection systems, the use of AI/ML for cybersecurity applications, key management strategies and infrastructure
  • Liaise with various teams such as software development, systems engineering, project engineering and program
  • Maintain active and professional communication with all involved stakeholders.
  • Lead or closely monitor advanced, higher risk, or customer witnessed tests. Review and approve contractual test plans and reports.
  • Independently identify, propose, and lead continuous improvement initiatives with broader departmental impacts. Support and guide team initiatives to maximize potential impact
  • Monitor and identify early warning signs of potential design quality issues within department, and proactively take action to mitigate.  Peer review and provide guidance on department RCCA activities. Lead complex or high impact RCCA activities.
  • Independently lead development and maintenance of critical organizational knowledge assets, in the form of best practices, guidance documents, processes, and procedures. Ensure important lessons learned are documented and applied to those knowledge assets. 
  • Independently lead technical customer interactions. 
  • Stay informed on progress of IRAD projects and roadmaps, acting as team POC.  Lead transition of new IRAD developments into production programs. 
  • Support the Area Manager to develop sound bids and proposals for Cybersecurity activities.  Peer review team bids to verify technical viability of offered solution.  Be prepared to support customer negotiations.

Required Qualifications: 
  • 5-7 years’ experience in cybersecurity
  • Familiarity with on-highway truck electronics and mechanical subsystems
  • Project management experience
  • Experienced in the application of NIST and other Risk Management Frameworks
  • Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Experience working successfully with teams and customers
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to Travel (10% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess and maintain a valid passport
  • Graduate from either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics programs or relevant demonstrated experience.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Detailed working knowledge of LAV electronic architectures.
  • Working Experience in:
    • SysML and UML
    • ISO 11989/Bosch CAN2.0B
    • SAE J1939 and MILCAN
    • OMG DDS (Data Distribution Service)
    • 802.1DG Time Sensitive Networking Automotive Profile
  • Experience with Commercial Cybersecurity Standards (ISO21434, SAE J3061, UN R155)
  • Familiarity with Ethernet data and Protocols
  • Familiarity with C, C++, C#, and Python programming languages
  • Able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance
