JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for brewing and brewing maintenance operations by providing specialized technical expertise
Accountable for leading improvement initiatives related to Brewing departmental Key Performance Indicators to ensure that targets are met
Identify and implement opportunities as dictated by process data to improve productivity, reduce cost, or improve quality
Conduct and assist in quality testing and assessments to ensure compliance with standards
Ability to understand financial drivers for assigned area and initiate processes to control costs
Provide guidance and support to the brewery network, brewing personnel and department heads
Provide creative troubleshooting/problem solving ideas to assist with brewery issues and develop new processes
Provide specialized technical support to assure Consumer quality expectations are met (beer freshness indicators, consumer complaint reduction, packaging quality, etc.)
Recommend opportunities for process optimization using root cause analysis tools
Monitor supplier raw technical performance and material loss
Support the engineering group in Capital projects related to the department
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science is required
2+ years of experience in industrial setting
Associate Membership Exam from the Institute and Guild of Brewing (or equivalent) is an asset
Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills and team orientation
Strong computer skills
Technical and problem-solving skills
Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
Results oriented with ability to provide strategic direction
Understanding of the complete brewing process with state of the art knowledge of specific areas of expertise
Strong knowledge of quality, environment and safety standards and regulations
Industrial relations experience in a unionized environment considered an asset
