The Supplier Quality Specialist reports directly to the Quality Director and is responsible for managing the quality level of supplier parts and materials from pre-series to EOP (end of production). In this role, your expertise will be essential for assuring quality level supplied parts meet project milestones. You will be responsible for the release of supplier parts and materials as well as for analyzing non conform product and implementing countermeasures in time to avoid production scrap. You will lead the Supplier sampling / part approval process, communicate with suppliers about first part release or / and complaints. In this role you will collaborate with R&D, Procurement, Production, Logistic and Suppliers.

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Sampling process, First Part Release of Supplier Parts and Material.
  • Quality support of the components from the development phase thru sampling and approval, ramp up, series manufacturing and End of Production (EOP) milestones.
  • Actively participation in the Advance Quality Planning Process
  • Assessment of suppliers in the nomination process regarding their quality capability and production competence in close approach with PowerCo Headquarter.
  • Control of quality requirements for the Supplier Parts and Materials, developing counter measures to achieve the goals.
  • Validation of incoming supplier Parts and Materials
  • Analysing of non-conformance supplier parts and materials, leading the supplier complaint process.
  • Implementation of counter measures with suppliers in case of delivery of non-conformance product.
  • Blocking, sorting of non-conformance supplier parts and materials.
  • Organizing and implementing of rework actions of supplier parts and material together with the suppliers.
  • Support and further development, coordination and decision-making of overarching quality methods and concepts for the achievement of goals in the projects and series.

What you bring to the Team

  • University degree with technical, engineering background – Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical, Engineering, Material Science
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Part Management
  • Necessary skills, knowledge, certifications:
    • Experience in automotive, chemical or battery industry.
    • Experience on IATF 16949, VDA, Customer Specific Requirements and Automotive Quality Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC, FMEA).
    • Strong root cause analysis skills.
    • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving tools (Ishikawa, 5Whys, Shainin) methodologies.
    • Experience on regulatory requirements and quality management.
    • Proficiency in effectively communicating with personnel at all levels within a manufacturing plant.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Proactive, self-driven, adept at working autonomously while consistently adhering to industry leading standards and methodologies, with a proactive approach to quality control and assurance.
    • Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
