Composite Technician
Looking for a dynamic Composite Technician to join our team in Dorchester, Ontario!

General Description:
The nature of the prototyping environment requires a creative and experienced individual, where a
challenge is the motivation to get the job done right. Occasionally production work, general wood work
and support of other tasks are part of the teamwork. The manufacturing knowledge gathered during the
prototyping of a product has to be transferred to the production staff in form of workmanship samples
and initial training.
Essential Duties:
The duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to:
• Use of wood working equipment like saws, sanders, plainer, joiner
• Use of contour templates for surface sculpting
• MIG welding of steel square tubing for mold frames
• Hand lamination, vacuum infusion and mold making
• Mold surface finishing and release agent application
• Trim and fit prototype parts
• Ability to teach others to work efficiently and to high quality standards
• Comply with the company Health & Safety rules and regulations in accordance with the Act.
• Manage consumables
• Scheduling of workload
• Consulting with engineering, QA and suppliers
• Work on new developments, prototypes and pre-production runs
• Other duties as required.

Prerequisite Skills and Qualifications:
• Proficient in blue print reading, good understanding of tolerances
• Understanding of quality procedures
• Familiar with wood joining techniques
• Familiar with surface finishing techniques
• Good hand skill with grinder and other hand tools for composite parts
• Knowledge of Epoxy and Polyurethane resins and fiber reinforcements
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
• General workman ship skills
• Organized and tidy workmanship
Must be able to pass a Security Clearance
