12 Month Contract, Specialist - Weld Auditor Job Description
| Key Job Elements | Conduct vehicle weld and assembly audits and purges in accordance with AWS Weld Standards and Assembly QA Standard Practices Conduct material dispositions (scrap, rework, re-use) Complete and maintain weld records for vehicle and subassemblies; ensure rework, LPI records are complete Evaluate weld assemblies for conformance to drawing and established GDLS-C standards Prepare vehicle weld documentation to support reviews by customer Assist with customer QAR vehicle reviews and document deficiencies, as required Secure customer acceptance of presentation items and distribute release documents, as required Other Quality related duties as assigned Ability to work swing shift, as required |
| Required Qualifications | College diploma in manufacturing or technical area Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience Experience working within established ISO systems Knowledge of Quality Management Systems Strong oral and written communication skills Proficient in MS Office and other software applications High level of mechanical aptitude Ability to travel (5%) Canada and (5% US), and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space |
| Preferred Qualifications | CWB 178.2 Level 3 Weld Inspector CGSB 48.9712 PT/MT/UT Level 2 Working knowledge of Light Armoured Vehicle systems Quality Assurance experience Previous military experience with LAVs |
| Working Environment | Work will be conducted both on the plant floor and in office settings. |
