About the Role
Senior MEP Specialist, Commissioning to lead and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) commissioning activities for a new state-of-the-art EV Cell manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in complex industrial systems with an understanding of high-tech manufacturing requirements and integrated MEP systems.
This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and documentation of MEP commissioning activities in accordance with industry standards (ASHRAE, ISO, etc.) and project specifications
- Oversee commissioning of HVAC systems, power distribution, lighting, fire protection, process piping, compressed air, chilled water, DI water, and process gases
- Develop and manage commissioning schedules, pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests (FPTs), and turnover documentation with the help of consultants and contractors
- Coordinate commissioning activities with Lot leads and construction companies, ensuring their seamless integration into the overall project schedule
- Review project drawings and specifications for constructibility and alignment with company and user requirements, and provide feedback to internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with design engineers, contractors, equipment vendors, and client stakeholders to validate system readiness
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to project leadership and stakeholders
- Willing to support the team and MEP Group Manager by contributing to other MEP-related activities within the project as needed
What you bring to the Team
- Background in high-volume battery cell production facilities or automotive manufacturing
- Experience with automation and controls
- Proficiency in commissioning software and tools (CxAlloy, Bluebeam, BIM 360, etc.)
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- In-depth understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, BMS), electrical systems (MV/LV distribution, UPS), and plumbing/process systems
- Familiarity with commissioning frameworks (CxA, LEED Cx, ISO standards)
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical one-lines, control logic diagrams, and construction drawings
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills
