The Opportunity

Medicom is seeking a motivated Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team for a 4-month internship starting May 2026.

In this role, you will support the EHS team during a key period of program development and operational readiness. You will gain hands-on experience contributing to the design and implementation of health and safety policies, programs, training materials, and safe work procedures within a manufacturing environment.

This posting is for a newly created internship position to support our growing manufacturing operations.

What You Will Do
  • Support the EHS team with the development and formatting of health and safety policies, programs, and procedures
  • Assist with the creation and updating of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) for equipment and processes
  • Help build training materials, orientation content, and safety presentations
  • Support the development of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments
  • Assist with organizing regulatory documentation and compliance records
  • Help prepare signage, safety postings, and internal safety communications
  • Support inspection checklist development and safety tracking tools
  • Assist with compiling SDS binders, PPE matrices, and training records
  • Participate in walkthroughs to identify hazards and improvement opportunities
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the EHS team

May include other related duties as required, provided such duties are reasonable and consistent with the employee’s qualifications and role responsibilities.

What You Bring
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related field
  • Currently enrolled in a co-op program through a recognized post-secondary institution and eligible to complete a full-time work term
  • Basic knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and manufacturing principles
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Available to work full-time (Monday–Friday) on-site at our London, Ontario manufacturing facility for the duration of the internship
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Assets

  • Previous internship, co-op, or academic project in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Interest in safety program and procedure development
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and manufacturing safety concepts
  • Experience with research, documentation, or technical writing
  • Exposure to risk assessments, inspections, or Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Experience creating training materials, presentations, or visual aids

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $21 to $23 per hour.
