?? We are currently hiring for a Production & Material Planner in our London, Ontario location

The Production Planner is responsible for planning and controlling the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and detailed work centre schedules to achieve customer on-time delivery, quality, and cost objectives. This role ensures the integrity of ERP/MRP data, including item masters, bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and planning parameters, to support accurate planning and execution. The incumbent creates, releases, and adjusts Manufacturing Orders (MOs) in accordance with established policies, prioritizes and sequences work across work centres based on the approved MPS and available capacity, and proactively identifies and escalates capacity, material, or quality constraints that may impact customer commitments. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, scheduling, and material flow, and actively leads or participates in planning-related improvement projects.


Main Function Responsibilities

• Translate the production plan into a daily/weekly/monthly MPS at article level.
• Perform RCCP to check MPS feasibility and propose scenarios (overtime, outsourcing, etc.).
• Lead the weekly MPS/Planning meeting and align stakeholders on priorities and recovery plans.
• Prioritize and release MOs by work centre based on MRP, capacity and customer priorities.
• Monitor MO progress, resolve bottlenecks with Production, and manage emergent demand.
• Ensure BOMs, routings and revisions on MOs are correct and current.
• Run and review MRP; action exception messages (reschedule, cancel, expedite).
• Drive shortage resolution with Purchasing, Stores and Production.
• Contribute to inventory targets and planning parameters for WIP, semi-finished and finished goods.
• Maintain planning parameters in ERP (lot sizes, lead times, safety stocks, planning methods).
• Support configuration control for items, BOMs and routings with Engineering and Quality.
• Assess and implement engineering changes in planning data and schedules.
• Track and report planning KPIs (OTD, schedule adherence, capacity, inventory, data accuracy).
• Analyse deviations, define recovery plans and support CI/lean projects.
• Ensure ERP data and procedures reflect improvements and new standards.
• Interface with Customer Service, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and other sites on demand, changes and constraints.
• Participate in stock takes, audits and assessments (including AS9100).
• Complete Rofo financial projections to support financial planning and reporting.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager or senior leadership in support of organizational objectives.

Job Requirements

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM certified or willing to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
• Knowledge of MRP II, basic business economics and QMS (AS9100/ISO 9001).
• Minimum 3 years of production planning/scheduling in manufacturing.
• 2–5 years using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, M3 or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of BOMs, routings, manufacturing processes and technical drawings.
• Proven experience working cross functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to lead planning discussions.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
• Detail oriented, thorough and accountable.
• Proactive, autonomous and resilient under changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork, escalation and negotiation skills across functions.

(Items as a plus for the position) i.e.:
• Aerospace or other highly regulated industry experience.
• Exposure to S&OP/IBP, NPI planning and lean/CI tools.
• Experience with audits (AS9100, customer) and controlled/regulated products.
• Follows Safran Policies & Procedures
• Ability to work in accordance with Ontario Health & Safety legislation
• Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position.
• Must be available to work Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

This position involves working with controlled goods and is subject to Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) regulations. As a result, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who meet the necessary security clearance requirements.
