Warehouse Coordinator
Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, a 25 min drive from north London, is the largest Veterinary Owned Distributor in Ontario. Our primary purpose is to ensure that Veterinarians have the supplies they need to provide healthcare to our furry friends. Be a part of the Supply Chain Industry and join our team. WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR
Under the general direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this role is responsible for directing all warehouse workers' activities to ensure that Veterinary Purchasing meets and exceeds our member's expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team player, looking to get the job done and support others.

- Monitor and coordinate that operational goals are met daily, and orders are picked, packed and shipped accurately and on time.
- Lead team members, giving guidance, continuous training, constructive feedback/reviews and recognition of contributions.

- Practice 5S procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels on the shelves within your area to ensure products are available for employees to pick.
- Participate and bringing forward ideas on improving the warehouse (i.e. layout, processes, culture and efficiencies).
- Communicate with other departments any concerns regarding customer orders, inventory, equipment, and processes.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all applicable Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Understand, follow, and monitor all applicable VP policies.
- Communicate and document infractions of VP policies.
- Understand and follow the safe handling of products using SDS. Clean up spilled or damaged inventory.
- Listen to, document, and communicate with Managers/Supervisors employee concerns or incidents. Fill out appropriate paperwork and aid in corrective action.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Health & Safety:
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Accountable for the health and safety of the employees under their supervision.
- Complete incident/accident investigations, as applicable.
- Responsible to ensure that machinery and equipment are inspected and operated safely.
- Ensure employees comply with safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ensure workers receive adequate training in their specific assigned job tasks to protect their health and safety. (GMP, TDG, EPT/LT Training)
- Inform workers of any potential or actual health and safety hazards identified in the workplace.
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.
- Aware of safety and evacuation procedures and assists during emergencies as required.
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Report to the H&S Manager any health & safety violations or hazards.
Good Manufacturing Practices:
- Follow and understand all relevant Standard Operating Procedures with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Experience in leadership, training, coaching, and advising, considered an asset.
- Excellent organization and time management.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- MHE – Forklift License or will be trained/certified
