• Provide legal counsel on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Represent clients in labour and employment disputes, including wrongful termination, workplace harassment, discrimination, and wage claims.
• Draft, negotiate and review contracts, including, but not limited to, commercial agreements, employment contracts, severance agreements, and workplace policies.
• Handle matters related to union negotiations, collective bargaining, and labour relations.
• Conduct workplace investigations and advise on best practices for compliance.
• Defend, mediate, settle legal/litigation matters.
• Stay up to date on labour laws, industry trends, and legal precedents affecting employment practices.
• Provide training and guidance to HR professionals and corporate leadership on employment law compliance.
• Provide legal guidance on Canadian and Ontario data protection and privacy matters.
