?? The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, we are seeking a hands-on Prototyping Specialist with strong machining capabilities and a passion for mechanical design. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist eager to expand into product development and design.
Your primary focus will be prototyping and fabrication using a variety of machine tools, with secondary responsibilities supporting new product development as a mechanical designer.
?? What You’ll Do
Design, fabricate, and coordinate custom equipment and components for prototyping and piloting
Conduct hands-on testing of mechanical systems and water treatment processes at bench and pilot scale
Build prototypes and test fixtures using manual and CNC machining tools (mills, lathes, drill presses)
Translate sketches, CAD drawings, and specifications into working prototypes
Develop and document procedures for operating, maintaining, and testing equipment in alignment with lab standards and safety protocols
? What You’ll Bring
Apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in engineering/applied science technology—or equivalent hands-on machining/prototyping experience
Proven background in custom-engineered project environments with strong machining and prototyping skills
Familiarity with process piping, electrical/control systems troubleshooting, and project coordination (asset)
Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and strong general computer skills (asset)
