Security Officer

Overview
The Security Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment. The Security Officer will support the coordination of all security operations at Motif Labs. This will include but not be limited to maintaining the security system, monitoring, reporting, and documenting all abnormalities. Responsible to assist with the general needs of staff, visitors, and contractors while onsite. This role requires the individual to be detail oriented and organized with the ability to successfully manage multiple requests simultaneously with high accountability for follow-through. Personality, friendliness and self-confidence are assets for this position.

Responsibilities

• Support with the development of security protocols.
• Monitor all security relative activities.
• Document and Reports all abnormalities in a timely manner and support with the
• investigation process.
• Assist with projects and assignments as required.
• Ensure all staff, including contractors and visitors adhere to our security process.
• Detect and respond to security incidents, alarms and emergency procedures.
• Prepare reports, checklists and maintain logs.
• Completes security system inspections / verifications.
• Identify, log, and monitor all incoming and outgoing visitors/contractors/temp workers to the site, issuing out badges and access accordingly.
• Onboarding new Hires and Temporary Employees, create Uattend profiles, manage logins and orientations.
• Other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in a Security related field is preferred.
• Familiar with Health Canada’s cannabis regulations.
• Security Cleared personnel will be a requirement.
• Positive attitude with strong communication skills.
• Strong time management skills including ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Shows initiative and ownership of work and willingness to learn.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
• Secondary diploma is a basic education requirement.
• Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

The selected candidate for this role will be required to work onsite in London. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and currently reside in the country, as we do not offer sponsorship.
