Salary Range: $43.64 - $51.33 /hour
The facilities management department at St. Joseph's Health Care London is an integrated team responsible for facilities project management, maintenance and operations, site utility usage, and biomedical engineering. Our core business hours for this role are 0800-1600 but work outside of these hours may be required for project implementation.
The Energy Management Specialist develops and implements sustainability projects and initiatives at St. Joseph's Health Care London with a focus on the reduction of energy and greenhouse gas emissions. The EM Specialist is responsible for identifying energy savings, tracking and measuring utility consumption, developing energy management plans and design standards, providing technical support to staff, utility procurement contracts, and promoting educational awareness and engagement around sustainability and energy conservation. The Specialist manages both internal and external relationships with key stakeholders including the Environmental Services team, Facilities Engineering team, Facilities Planning team, consultants, clinical departments and externally with ministries, peer organizations, and regulatory agencies. Specialists also engage with external stakeholders to discuss common goals and objectives and to bring best practices to the organization, including the City of London, Canadian Coalition for Green Healthcare, OHA, CHES, service providers and various healthcare facilities.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, building sciences, engineering, energy management or similar
- 5 years of relevant energy or consulting experience
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Ability to engage internal stakeholders to align work with sustainability goals and objectives
- Ability to analyzes data to support with reconciliation of the utility budgets
- Previous experience with energy and greenhouse gas management
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and electronic)
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong people and project leadership skills, with ability to provide feedback at all levels of leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) OR
- Licensed Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects
- Related experience in a health care setting is preferred
- Proficiency in French would be an asset

Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
