Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inspection requirements for plant & customer needs with advanced quality and production group(s)
  • Develop the required CMM/Scanner programs to conduct full dimensional part layouts and capability studies with appropriate reports for PPAP submissions based off customer/internal requirements
  • Provide CMM/Scanner verifications/statistical analysis to support problem investigations
  • Create and maintain proper documentation of inspection results
  • Maintain CMM/Scanner in good working condition and perform validation checks during and after machine use
  • Perform inspection using a variety of other precision measurement equipment (i.e. micrometers, height gauge, calipers, indicators, etc.) to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Conduct annual dimensional part layouts and capability studies on current parts as required
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of tooling and check fixtures to the design and drawing specifications as required
  • Maintain weekly and monthly reporting metrics
  • All other relevant duties as directed
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director/Manager of quality to meet customer requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
  • 2+ years previous technical experience operating CMM's, scanners or 3D scanners
  • Extensive knowledge of GD& T, Blueprint & CAD data interpretation
  • 5 years related experience in Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing
  • 3 years' experience with stamping, welding and assembly processes
  • Computer efficiency and systems knowledge in all required areas (i.e. MCOSMOS, Windows, Excel, Word, Polyworks)
