Role Purpose: Wolfe’s Buyers are responsible for ensuring purchasing is completed as per company requirements and overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. The Buyer will have constant communication with suppliers, customers, and colleagues to ensure inventory levels remain maintained.

Reports To: Production Control/Supply Chain Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and send purchase orders based on requirements in ERP system or upon request.
  • Source new vendors and complete cost comparisons for purchased components
  • Provide regular updates to project teams on status of deliveries, backorders etc. and expedite orders as required.
  • Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned.
  • Schedule daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers.
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
  • Receive incoming shipments.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
  • Problem solve for any cases of missing documents or discrepancies.
  • Update delivery dates on orders as required
  • Issue jobs to the floor and close when completed.
  • Print and prepare Operator and Safety manuals for outgoing Wolfe machines.
  • Complete inventory spot checks as needed.
  • Order spare parts as needed.
  • Complete vendor returns as needed.
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Operate fork truck as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant College diploma preferred
  • Previous experience in a purchasing/buying role (required)
  • Must have exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
