Position Overview:

 

To translate the forecasted demand / customer orders into a balanced production plan over a long term horizon with particular emphasis on delivering the agreed level of labor utilization, customer service within cost, efficiency and inventory targets. Track progress against plan, make changes as necessary to accommodate priorities and constraints, communicate progress to key internal contacts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Utilizing SAP/APO/SNP and other necessary tools where necessary, generate medium and long-term supply plan whilst ensuring plan is within the available operational hours and inventory targets. Determine any requirements for additional hours to support Customer Service Level, and drive through resolution with the operational team/s

2. Monitor progress against the plan through frequent contact with Production Schedulers and the Operational site team, consulting / informing of any adjustments as necessary, according to priorities, constraints & customer commitments. Maintain close contact with Supply Planners and/or Customer Services advising them of the situation and the actions taken / in progress to deliver OTIF / available inventory.

3. Liaising with the Commercialization and Supply Planning teams, ensure that Trials, NPI (New Product Introductions), and product discontinuations are executed in an effective way, eliminating / minimizing product & material write off.

4. Control and maintain Master Data within planning system for the appropriate resources and products to both manage the constraints of seasonality, holidays, business change etc, as well as ensure that conversion costs are accurately reflected/recorded.

5. Assist other Production Planners in the preparation of production plans for their areas as and when necessary, (holidays, sickness), including work in progress planning, to avoid incurring unnecessary costs elsewhere within the supply chain.

6. Facilitate the weekly planning meetings alongside the Material Schedulers and offer guidance on any constraints and work through solutions to maintain operational efficiencies and the balance to maintain OTIF & Inventory targets.

7. Produce/update all relevant reports including S&OE for the Production Planning Manager and or EMEA Supply Planning Team as well as any ad hoc management reports as and when required, highlighting corrective actions for nonconformance to target.

8. Comply with all the rules concerning Health and Safety, to ensure that all equipment is operate safely and to report any accident, injury or unsafe practice in accordance with procedures

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • A degree in an appropriate discipline (Business or Supply Chain) is desirable
  • Experience of ERP systems within a production environment 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in SAP / APO / SNP is desirable
