Presstran's lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions as well as non-automotive applications.
 

Role Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Department Leader or designate, the Human Resources Office Coordinator supports human resources programs such as compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and, staffing and recruitment. Responds to employee inquiries regarding human resources policies and procedures. Identifies and/or resolves potential workplace issues. The HR Office Coordinator is also responsible for performing effectively a variety of administrative duties, compiling and maintaining records/reports related to all HR activities.
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  1. Community College diploma/certificate in Human Resources is required. Post-secondary Office Administration Certificate/Diploma an asset
  2. 3 to 5 years Human Resources practical experience (preferably in manufacturing and/or automotive environments)
  3. Excellent verbal, written, listening and organizational skills
  4. Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime, shifts, etc.)
  5. Proficient with in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Requires strong keyboarding skills with high accuracy
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritize job assignments and multi-task
  7. Demonstrated attention to detail
  8. Must be able to support the Open-Door Process
  9. Excellent telephone manner and demonstrated ability to use tact and diplomacy
  10. Able to work in a strictly confidential and professional manner
  11. Ability to work independently in an efficient and effective manner
Key Responsibilities
  1. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department and Leader
  2. Administers corporate and divisional benefit program (including STD and LTD), acts as program liaison, and ensures the communication of updated information as required
  3. Provides assistance to employees for administrative requests, inquires, RRSP, Deferred Profit-Sharing Programs [DPSP], Pension Plans, parking passes, employee ID badges, etc.
  4. Compiles year-end DPSP hours and earnings to report to Magna; earnings to report to Magna
  5. Conducts orientation and probationary employee benefit reviews. Completes all required activities when employees leave Presstran
  6. Facilitates the process for employee concerns and questions to be resolved. Promotes the Open-Door Process, encourages the employees to meet with their department leaders and attends the sessions when applicable/requested. Responds to employees within 24-48 hours.
  7. Provides assistance to employees to complete benefit forms or explain benefit programs
  8. Coordinates the return-to-work program for STA employees by working in cooperation with the employee, department supervisor, Safety and Ergonomics Coordinators, the employee's medical practitioners, etc.
  9. Coordinates all activities/administration of the following programs: service awards; flowers; ear protection; memberships, personal discount programs, promotional events, budget cost tracking; Presstran allowance; employee celebrations, retirement parties, etc.
  10. Supports the Workplace Social Committee and social activities as required
  11. Maintains the Magna PeopleTools system and ADP People@Work benefit system, enrolls new employees, and maintains personal employee data. Inputs attendance adjustments weekly into ADP
  12. Acts as the Document Control Coordinator for audit requirements. This includes maintenance of process flows, organizational charts, policies and procedures, and form maintenance in Document Manager
  13. Maintains various computer databases related to HR. activities and provides standard and custom reports in text, graphic, or statistical formats as required
