Reporting to the Site Readiness Director, the EHSS Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day environmental, health and safety and security functions at the site. The EHSS Manager executes planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, environmental and security programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety and security for employees and compliance for our facility.

 

The Role

  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, rules, permits and licenses relevant to the site

  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Environmental Acts and regulations, rules, permits and annual reporting is completed and submitted on time

  • Drive compliance to EHSS policies and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with Catalent security standards.

  • Facilitate and ensure safety concerns and incidents and accidents are reported promptly and level of investigation supports the identification of root cause (s) and immediate and preventative actions

  • Lead / Assist in conducting FMEA risk assessments – identifying and installing the appropriate controls for new materials introduced at the site

  • Identify projects, in conjunction with stakeholders to reduce costs and improve efficiencies throughout the site

  • Other duties as assigned

 

The Candidate

  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Required

  • Knowledge of ISO18001 and ISO14001

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources or related field) preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in an EHS capacity.

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical, manufacturing and/or GMP facility is preferred.

  • Use of manual dexterity is required.

  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
