Arvin Sango Canada Inc. (ASCI) is Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer, specializing in vehicle exhaust systems and welded structural components. We currently have an opportunity for a talented and motivated Production Supervisor - Contract for 6 months.

Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of production members. They are responsible for planning work schedules, assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. They also ensure compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards. This position has roughly 25 direct reports (and growing!) which mostly consists of Team Leaders and Production Team Members. They have full shift responsibility. Candidates must be able to work a 6-month contract primarily day shift on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondays.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures effective member relations daily, providing member coaching and development
  • Makes employment decisions and resolves member concerns through problem resolution
  • Supports continuous improvement activities within the team through active participation and direction
  • Manages team performance measures and provides regular reports
  • Multi-facetted position; responsible for Quality, Production, Production Control, Team Leaders & Maintenance
  • Maintains the member timekeeping system
  • Counsels, records, and applies appropriate discipline as necessary
  • Develop Team Leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of members
  • Works closely with and takes direction from the Plant Manager

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent people skills with demonstrated leadership ability
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory position
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes and materials
  • Good knowledge of the Toyota production system would be an asset
  • Have a valid passport and the ability to travel to the U.S. for periodic training
  • Must be willing to work primarily day shift Friday through Monday and overtime when needed

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary education and related training a definite asset
