Reporting to the Department Supervisor, this position is accountable for becoming trained in a reasonable time frame in all aspects of the Finishing Department including but not limited to sorting, polishing, printing, packaging, and reprocessing of capsules.

 

This position is located in Strathroy, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.

 

Shifts: 12-hour Continental Shifts (Days and Nights)

 

The Role

  • Communicates with operator from previous shift - during shift change, regarding necessary facts and current events related to the daily operations.

  • Complete all documentation required as per Master Batch Production Records.

  • Cleans, maintains, and operates all equipment for both Integrated Lines, including but not limited to roller grader, twin separator, printers, symetix, bagger, and sealer.

  • Maintains all work areas in a clean and organized state at all times.

  • Training team members in processes and procedures is required.

  • Follows all SOP’s, GMP’s and Safety procedure.

  • Must be fully qualified and in good standing on finishing modules.

  • Perform other duties as required.

 

The Candidate

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.

  • Additional education would be considered an asset.

  • Preferred 2 years of experience in a cGMP or other regulated work facility.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Works cooperatively in teams, communicates clearly and has effective listening skills.

  • Ability to work independently, as required and complete daily activities according to schedule.

  • Process a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude needed for integrated lines.

  • Must be fully qualified and in good standing on finishing modules.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.

  • Use of manual dexterity is required.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, bend, or twist, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • There is also the potential exposure to chemicals.
