Purchasing Coordinator - Bathing

  • Job Description

     

    1.0  Position Summary:

    The Purchasing Coordinator - Bathing is responsible for supporting the bathing by organizing the RM and MRO items as per the MCL inventory management procedure. Works in close coordination with production and purchasing.    The objective is to provide realtime consumption data to the purchasing department and ensure adequate stock to optimize efficiency by preventing stock-outs.

     

    2.0  Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Establish min-max for all MRO  items and review the stock levels if required.
    • Locate MRO items and establish overflow locations for fast-moving items.
    • Prepare an MRO checklist for each area and get lead hands to cycle count daily.
    • Collect and summarize the reorder list from lead hands  and get the MRO buyer to order items
    • Work with the receiving department to collect and put away the items at proper locations.
    • Follow up with MRO buyer and receiving and, if required, contact the vendor to follow up to ensure supply.
    • Participate in the daily production meeting to understand the production plan and adjust the inventory level to meet the demand.
    • Work with MHO to ensure all the RM are located at the proper locations
    • Work with manufacturing  engineering  to create and modify locations
    • Support the RM buyer with realtime consumption and assist her in ensuring proper supply
    • Audit the RM consumption as required to ensure accurate BOM consumption data.
    • Follow special orders and modified jobs to ensure the supply of special order items with long lead times.
    • Coordinate with QA  and purchasing to return nonconforming  MRO and RM items.
    • Coordinate with planning to manage display production at the subcontractor locations.
    • Other duties as required

     

    3.0  Health & Safety:

    • Maintain a safe workplace
    • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required on the shop floor
    • Comply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
    • Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)
    • Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required
    • Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor
    • Maintain a clean working environment
    • Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirements
    • Annual medical surveillance may be required
    • Get TDG certification

     

    4.0  Quality:

    • Follow all area work instructions and procedures to ensure quality standards are adhered to
    • Report any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept, Lead Hand and your supervisor
    • Follow the control of nonconforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area

     

    6.0  5S:

    • Adhere to 5S standards within the areas that you work in
    • Place material and products in the appropriate locations only
    • If applicable, take 5 min at the end of the shift to bring your work area back to the outlined 5S standard
    • Correct any deviations from these 5S standards immediately

     

    7.0  Daily Management:

    9.0  Qualification:

    • Ability to complete complex problem solving related to vacuum forming processes
    • Ability to pull, push, bend and lift
    • Ability to read/write English
    • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours

     

    10.0  Educational Requirements:

    • OSSD or equivalent
    • Successful completion of all tests related to the position

     

    11.0  Additional Skills / Knowledge Requirements / Other:

    • Complies with all company policies and procedures
    • Performs other tasks as assigned by management
    • Bathing products and industry practices
    • Bathing machines and manufacturing techniques
    • ERP systems
