We are currently looking for a team-oriented full-time Machine Builder to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Machine Builder is responsible for the mechanical build, bench assembly, floor assembly, testing, disassembly, installation, and integration of robotic work cells, mechanical assemblies, and factory automation products in order to ensure that a quality product is built on time, safely, and meets customer standards.
The responsibilities for the position will include:
- Review drawing packages at the detail level for fit, function and manufacturability
- Attend design reviews to critique mechanical design for functionality and robustness.
- Understand the manufacture of details, review tolerances on prints, and where to apply.
- Execution of prototypes to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Proceed with floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper order.
- Advise designers of any design issues and collaborate with the team to resolve.
- Participate in the debug/integration of the line and station start up.
- Run assembled machines with the team to verify functionality of operator stations, operator interface, loading and unloading areas, and guarding for ease of maintenance.
- Work with customers to achieve commissioning of equipment (factory acceptance testing).
- Coordinate and participate in disassembly and shipping of the equipment, dismantling in an orderly fashion to minimize the installation time at customer’s site.
- Be an ambassador for Armo Tool at the customer’s site, providing a quick and efficient installation of equipment.
- Machine, fit, and assemble component parts and precision tooling with a quality and timely focus in order to build all custom automation projects.
Education, Skills and Job Requirements:
- Millwright 433A/Tool and Die Maker 430A ticket or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in integration and assembly of custom factory automation machinery.
- Must be willing and able to travel internationally to support machine installs.
- Set up and operate various machine tools, such as manual lathes and small mills, and apply knowledge of mechanisms, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures to support the assembly team with new work or rework.
- Requires a practical working knowledge of the operation of all toolroom equipment.
