We are looking for qualified Industrial Mechanic Millwright to join the team at our window manufacturing plant in London.

Job Description

  • Promptly complete all tasks assigned
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain & repair various pieces of process equipment and general building issues
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical manuals, drawings and basic operation guides as necessary to assess targeted issues and assignments
  • Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on production line equipment as required including documenting and maintaining details of inspections
  • Make recommendations on changes to equipment, method or product
  • Use a variety of tools and measuring equipment
  • Frequently communicate with supervisor and lead hands to ensure proper functionality of production processes/equipment
  • Ensure all safety devices are properly adjusted, in place, and all procedures are followed
  • Adhere to plant safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment within the company’s 5S program.
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Certified Millwright (Ontario Certificate of Qualification Industrial Maintenance Mechanic 433A)
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Effective and targeted communicator with the ability to prioritize urgencies
  • Understanding of and compliance with safety procedures and good housekeeping standards
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, troubleshooting and multi-tasking
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines
  • Possess a proactive, positive demeanor with results driven focus and excellent attendance
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-functional team environment with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work with PC – windows based programs – MS office, word, excel, etc. would be an asset
  • PLC experience would be an asset
  • Familiarity with ISO standards would be an asset.
  • Other duties as required

Additional Information

  • Hourly Rate: $41.60/hour as per CBA ($0.50/hour premium when working the afternoon shift)
  • Must be willing to work rotating day and afternoon shifts
