We are seeking a Buyer / Material Planner to join our Supply Chain Operations team.
This fulltime position provides support though managing day to day purchasing tasks, material requirements planning, supplier relationship management, product life cycle, logistics and on time deliveries to ensure production requirements are met.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, our ideal candidate will combine their professional experience, skills and knowledge of supply chain, scheduling, and planning activities.
The candidate must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to anticipate changes in work demands and seek alternative solutions. Working as part of a strong team demonstrating flexibility in completing tasks while following establish processes that deliver exceptional results.

What you’re responsible for:
General
- Willing and able to be ‘hands-on’ as needed to participate in physical counts
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Suppliers and negotiate details
- Develop reports and perform administrative tasks
- Develop the capacity to think in a careful and discerning way to solve problems, to analyze data, to recall and apply information.
- Work with production, quality, and accounting departments.
- Change, elaborate, adapt, support, and implement continuous improvement projects to
- improve on ideas and processes related to strategy, supplier identification, assessment, negotiation, selection, and qualification.
- Issue and manage purchase orders
- Issue and manage Requests for Quotations with suppliers
- Manage assigned suppliers to assure on-time delivery of supplies at the best total cost.
- Work with established suppliers to ensure continuous supply and availability of all production materials
- Gather information, analyze inventory data and other reports to plan material purchasing
- Expedite shipments with supply base when needed
- Plan orders for production activity to maintain appropriate scheduling of material to control sufficient capacity of materials.
- Complete planning tasks for buying domestically and overseas
To join our team:
- Purchasing/Planning and inventory control experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience, with excellent Excel skills and Visual is an asset
- Experience with long lead time and overseas planning
- Experience with MRP/ERP database systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work
- Meticulous attention to detail
