Accountabilities

  • Understanding of international Product Environmental Compliance (PEC) and regulatory standards and approval processes.

  • Demonstrate competence and skills in applying compliance knowledge to product development and certification of products.

  • Interpret federal/state/international regulations as they apply to Trojan Technologies products, processes and/or procedures.

  • Monitor product compliance status and assist with decision-making of sales to global markets.

  • Prepare PEC documentation, submissions and declarations (REACH, RoHS, China RoHS, California Proposition 65, iMerc).

  • Oversee product change management systems & processes related to compliance requirements.

  • Manage compliance product data and information (components, certificates, documentation & labeling)

  • Authenticate customer facing documentation and labeling to validate compliance.

  • Manage compliance factory and product audits (internal or by external certification agencies) and mitigate audit findings.

  • Collaborate with external agencies and testing houses

  • Assist Engineering and Product Development teams with UL, CE regulatory projects.

  • Prepare and review documentation for test labs, notified body and other governing compliance bodies and provide technical translation of requirements to global engineering teams as required.

  • Effectively facilitate meetings, teleconferences and audits with internal and external parties.

  • Provide support to Production, QA, Traffic, Engineering and Project Engineering with product compliance assessments and requirements.

  • Creates and executes to plans to achieve prescribed objectives.

  • Makes independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions and creates professional and comprehensive technical documentation.

  • Provides PEC training, guidelines and best practices to engineering teams.

  • Work with the SPC team to proactively identify new directives, laws or regulations Trojan will need to comply with

 

Measures of Performance

  • Review and propose updates on the SOPs; identifies gaps in existing processes.

  • Review and implement PEC regulations.

  • Review and implement product safety standards.

  • Meet project deadlines while achieving key performance indicators for regulatory and compliance.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in completing PEC and regulatory projects.

  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems (specifically documentation and procedure controls) and related requirements.

  • Post-secondary education (college or university).

  • General experience in the following skills:

  • Environmental: RoHS, Battery, Packaging, Mercury, WEEE, SCIP, Biocides regulations and laws.

  • Regulatory: UL, CE standards and directives.

  • Interpretation of global product environmental and regulatory laws.

 

Personal Characteristics

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and complex critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with computer software applications.

  • Ability to work within a team and under pressure.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in fast paced environment.

  • Detail oriented, adaptable, quick learner and self-management.

  • High interest in acquiring new knowledge and skills as they relate to PEC.
