Job Description

Manufacturing Engineering Technologist


> Review engineering data (drawings) and generate production work orders or work
> Develop plans and recommendations for equipment and correct methods of
manufacturing, including: sequence of operations and detailed methodology of
complex assemblies, installations, and detailed components
> Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of existing or proposed operations
resulting in process improvement recommendations/implementation
> Assist with make or buy proposals
> Recommend corrective actions for areas of responsibility
> Perform product-ability studies from engineering drawings
> Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
> Make necessary computer inputs and generate data or reports as needed
> Incorporate Lean Manufacturing methodology into existing and future processes
> Employ sound project management skills to deliver projects in a timely and
complete manner
> Work on special projects
> Ensure quality policies are being practiced
> Make recommendations and implement procedures to improve quality
> Initiate and maintain accurate daily and weekly activity status based on work
> Perform all work in accordance with Health and Safety policies
> Other related duties as assigned

Preferred Skills & Experience:

> 3 years experience
> Experience with drawing control
> Experience with Bill Of Material control and maintenance
> Experience working with ERP/MRP software
> Experience with production tooling design and implementation
> Familiarity with aviation manufacturing processes, terms, and support systems
> Knowledgeable about engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality
control, plant safety, and blueprint reading
> Ability to operate computerized equipment such as personal computers, CADAM,
> Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts including 5S, JIT, KanBan, VSM,
and One-Piece Flow
> Relevant college diploma (engineering degree would be an asset)
