We are Hiring a Senior Manager, People Operations (Human Resources)! 

 

The Senior Manager, People Operations is accountable for leading the team responsible for providing complete Human Resources services to both hourly and salaried employees across all functional areas at Masco Canada. The incumbent will be responsible for the people agenda within both a unionized and non-unionized environment and will be the driving force behind creation and implementation of people plans aligned with business agenda.   

 

What You Will Do:

  • Provides support and administration of human resources processes and services.

  • Contribute to the execution of the business plan through the creation and implementation of the people strategies that attract, develop and retain employees. Drive flawless execution of our HR Initiatives, programs and processes.

  • Ensure people issues are a key consideration when discussing and planning business activities. Manage effective organizational transformation and change projects to help ensure desired business outcomes. Shape our culture to align with our Masco Canada goals & initiatives through supporting & coaching managers in their implementation of core people processes.

  • Establish and maintain effective win-win working relationships with managers, employees and their representatives through an environment that fosters communication and co-operation.

  • Promote and foster a culture and environment that is productive, open, empowering, safe, equitable and inclusive.  Coach others to behave and make decisions in line with our Masco Leadership Profile, overall Talent Principles and our Masco Canada values.

  • Manage labour relations program including overseeing the effective interpretation and administration of collective agreement, leads effective solutions of grievance process and/or disputes, advises management and union representatives in development, application, and interpretation of labour relations policies and practices and ensures effective preparation and support for collective bargaining.

  • Oversees employee policy management and compliance including administration, consistent application, process improvement, benchmarking, enhancements, modifications and development & implementation to ensure both compliance and environment which supports employee engagement and market competitiveness.

  • Use metrics and analysis regularly to support functional business strategies, identify talent trends / people issues and uses to make recommendations for solutions.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ progressive labour relations/ human resources experience including involvement in the administration of collective agreements, including negotiations, grievance and arbitration procedures in a unionized environment

  • Possesses a high level of accountability and proven capability to identify opportunities, take initiative and think through future implications

  • Excellent collaboration, networking and relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven consultation, negotiation and consensus building skills with the ability to proactively problem-solve complex issues with a variety of stakeholders

  • Creative, analytical, detail-oriented with solid project management skills

  • Flexible and self-directed with the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to invite diverse perspectives, promote an inclusive work environment and support workforce diversity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels in organization and proficient presentation, reporting and communication content development through Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Successful completion of a University degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution; CHRP/CHRL is preferred
