The Opportunity

 We are recruiting a Finishing Operations Area Leader to help oversee and lead our finishing operations.  These operations include our rinse station, test chamber, powder coating process, mechanical-electrical assembly, and packaging operations including shipping documentation and verification.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

·         Reading blueprints, plans, work instructions, routing sheets and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services

·         Monitoring production in their assigned areas and resolving production related issues that arise

·         Setting strategic long and short-term departmental goals and evaluating outcomes

·         Overseeing the production process and adapting to a very dynamic and changing production schedule that is based on a customer first approach

·         Spending considerable time on the shop floor supervising the department and staff

·         Ensuring high levels of productivity are maintained with a high level of attention to detail while conducting quality verifications throughout the process

·         Ensuring that production cost is effective

·         Complying with the entire Quality Manual to ensure the shipment of only the highest quality products

·         Communicating job expectations to all assigned employees

·         Ensuring all employees are properly trained on all related procedures, processes and usage of equipment

·         Performing regular quality assessments on all material and outgoing products for shipping

·         Working with the Leadership team to ensure consistency and accountability in employee relations

·         Supervising and evaluating employee performance of all assigned employees

·         Participating in the recruiting, interviewing and orienting processes for new and potential team members

The Ideal Candidate

·         Extensive knowledge of management theory and/or practical experience of its application in the workplace

·         Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other departments

·         Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple company initiatives simultaneously

·         Experience planning and organizing to be able to effectively oversee and monitor the production process

·         Ability to act decisively and solve employee or equipment related problems

·         Keen attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality

·         Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet deadlines

·         Process oriented with the ability to reason in a logical and systematic manner

·         Proven related work experience; Powder coating experience is considered an asset
