OPERATIONS MATERIAL HANDLER

We are currently seeking a highly-skilled and dedicated Operations Material Handler who will be responsible for loading and unloading products and materials to designated locations within the production and warehousing areas, as well as picking and placing material orders. We are looking for safe and experienced forklift operators. This role is located in London, Ontario and reports to the Operations Supervisor.

SHIFT STRUCTURE

This role is required to work the shift structure of a 2-3-2, 4 week days and 4 week nights, 12 hour shift rotation with an anticipated start date in June, 2022.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER

• Promote a Health and Safety, Food Safety and GMP Culture by adhering to company standards at all times.

• Operate forklifts, powered walkies, and other industrial equipment for loading, unloading and moving products.

• Preparation of finished goods for outbound shipping, including but not limited to stacking, wrapping, weighing, etc., as well as conducting inventory as required.

• Identify, investigate and report equipment deviations and malfunctions to the Leadership team.

• Precisely collect and maintain records for reporting and tracking, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Complete production duties as a regular task, including the operation and attending to production equipment, maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area at all times; ensure equipment is operated and cleaned according to manufacturer guidelines and internal SSOP’s.

• Complete warehousing duties in the event of absence and/or as needed.

• Set a positive example by complying at all times with Health and Safety and Quality and Food Safety policies.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• A minimum of 1 year of related material handling experience; a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

• Working knowledge of safe chemical handling, HACCP and GMP procedures, and allergens.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team, in a fast paced environment; collaboration skills, as well as the ability to influence others.

• Solid time management capabilities with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute deliverables.

• Willing and able to follow specific instructions and perform repetitive tasks with minimal supervision.

• You possess basic mathematical, verbal and written communication and reading skills, and possess rudimentary computer/tablet skills required.
