Unifin International is a business unit within Wabtec Corporation’s Components division.  Originally founded in the 1920’s, Unifin International is an electric equipment cooling company, focused on the power generation and transmission markets.  Our primary business is within North America, but it reaches worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plants to growing renewable energy power grids.

 

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will be working daily with the quality employees as well as the manufacturing employees.  You will also work daily with all other departments at Unifin including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Sales, Engineering, and Design.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Demonstrate a passion and responsibility for customer satisfaction;
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Quality Assurance including two years’ supervisory experience;
  • Diploma or degree in Quality, Engineering and/or Business or similar discipline;
  • Certification and experience as an Internal Auditor, an asset;
  • ASME Section VIII background preferred;
  • Ability to read blueprints;
  • Possess technical background and knowledge of welding and testing standards;
  • Detail oriented;
  • Take a hands-on approach to their work;
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to fit into a very dynamic team.

 

What will your typical day look like?

Please note that this is a full-time position which requires the incumbent to work fully on site with no hybrid work schedule.

  • Supervise two Quality Technicians in the Quality Department;
  • Perform tasks on the shop floor that will include:
  • Inspection of incoming materials, in-process inspection and final goods inspections, ensuring all Code requirements are met and record retention is kept;
  • Responsible for maintenance of QMS Quality Management System for ISO 9001 and ASME VIII;
  • Coordinate third-party inspection for NDE and compliance;
  • Coordinate Customer inspection of product when required;
  • ITP Inspection Test Plans creation and submission to customers to help ensure product is built to customer specification in line with internal approved processes;
  • Manage and control on-hold inventory;
  • Be responsible for the traceability and identification of materials including assisting supplier with compliance;
  • Issue and ensure completion of Non-Conformance reporting, working closely with Design on any issue or improvements;
  • Perform Supplier and internal audits when required;
  • Prepare all QA documentation for each job completed;
  • Review job packages to ensure all requirements can be met;
  • Review inspection cards and ensure they are updated;
  • Maintain calibration requirements;
  • Analyze PPM KPI’s and implement systematic solutions for negative trends;
  • Complete Corrective Action Reports as assigned. (5Y and or 8D)
