Job Summary

The Industrial Millwright, under the direction of the Director, Facilities and Maintenance, will primarily be responsible to ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production. The Millwright must possess certifications or licenses appropriate to manufacturing industry and knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes.

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
  • Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production
  • Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
  • Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes
  • Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
  • Mark, record, and report defective products
  • Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
  • Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, and precision grinding
  • Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
  • Cut, drill, sand, or plane materials for snug fit
  • Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
  • Lubricate, clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools
  • Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • Operate and tend automated assembling equipment such as robotic and fixed automation equipment
  • Position and install parts, subassemblies, and accessories using hand tools, power tools, and other aids like overhead hoists
  • Remove parts or completed products from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers

Job Requirements

  • Licensed Millwright Journeyperson
  • 5-7 years Millwright experience in a related industry
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment
  • Must have electrical knowledge
  • Must have knowledge in pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Must have fabricating skills
  • Must have plumbing skills
  • Must be able to read blueprints and drawings
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills
